Your doctor has requested that you have a 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM) to assist in monitoring your blood pressure at home.
There will be a cost for this monitoring system including a deposit.
On the day you collect the Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor you will be required to pay $150. This fee consists of $100 for the use of the monitor, plus a $50 deposit which will be refunded upon the return of the monitor.
The $100 out of pocket charge is not claimable through Medicare.
When you come to the practice for your appointment for the hire of the ABPM it is important that you do the following:
- Shower prior to the application – this is important because the blood pressure monitor MUST NOT get wet.
- Wear loose clothing, comprising of 2 pieces (short sleeve shirts are preferable).
