Coronavirus (COVID-19) Precautions

At the present, the Toowoomba Region is under MODERATE RISK RESTRICTIONS.

In response, Toowoomba Medical Centre has implemented new guidelines for patients and visitors who enter the practice and have initialised Stage 2 of our COVID-19 Response Plan.

Our current COVID-19 procedures include:

  • All patients and visitors will be screened upon entering the practice including answering a series of COVID-19 related questions.
  • We are asking that only one other person attends an appointment with a patient. This includes a family member, relative, support or care worker.
  • All visitors, who do not have an appointment with one of our doctors, will be required to complete a form including their name and contact number. This information will be kept for a minimum of 6 months and will only be used in the event of assisting Public Health with contact tracing.
  • Our confidentiality guidelines and privacy policy remain the same.
  • All patients and visitors will be asked to wear a mask when entering the practice and for the duration of their appointment to help protect not only themselves, but also other patients and our staff in line with information provided by the Queensland Government and Public Health.
  • We will not be sending SMS reminders for patients during this time and instead will be phoning all patients to confirm they are not currently unwell with cold or flu like symptoms and to advise them of the current recommendation to wear a mask.

The current recommendations will be in place for a minimum of 4 weeks from Monday 31st August 2020.

Toowoomba Medical Centre wants to reassure all patients and visitors to the practice that we are taking precautions in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In relation to the current increase in cases throughout New South Wales and Victoria, the practice has initialised our Pandemic Response Plan relating to Coronavirus.

We are continually monitoring the situation and making changes to the practice as necessary.

Currently, we are requesting that all visitors to the practice, including those who attend an appointment with a patient, complete a Visitor to the Practice Health Declaration Form. This form will be kept at the practice for a minimum of 6 months, or as necessary, to ensure the safety of all our patients and visitors alike in the event of a Coronavirus outbreak.

If you are attending an appointment with a patient of the practice you may complete the Visitor to the Practice Health Declaration form prior to your appointment.

For any further information please contact our practice reception team on (07) 4635 6111

You can save time by printing and completing our VISITOR TO THE PRACTICE HEALTH DECLARATION form before you come in. Download the Form -
